Big chain pizza is fucking repulsive.

EG: Papa Johns, Dominos, Pizza Hut

Especially Cicis. Nastiest fucking shit on this planet. My friends and I would always go there before getting drunk when we were in High School.

Pizza Hut was good when I was a kid, now it tastes like somebody shit on a piece of dough and baked it in the oven.

Only good thing about Pizza Hut is the physical restaurants, most of them are fairly untouched from the 90's for max nostalgia.

Also, my job situation is sorted out. Still want to move again though.

I find Domino’s acceptable when I don’t have time to wait 45 minutes for a pizza. But I used to work there so I’m good at manipulating the system to get a halfway decent pizza.

Pizza Hut is the absolute worst. Papa Johns is only marginally better.

Little Caesar’s makes a good deep dish for cheap, but their other pizza is worse that PJs.

Papa John’s are okay though very expensive for what it is.

I went onto a local takeaway website and if you order direct using their site, you get free delivery, also they’ve started a 20% for using their site so got a really good 12" ham and pineapple for half the price of a Papa John’s pizza.

Pizza Hut is the least disgusting if you opt for the supreme stuffed crust pizza and simultaneously call an ambualnce to your house for the subsequent heart attack.

Papa Johns used to be really good. Like 15 years ago. They’ve definitely changed the dough since then, likely everything else. I’m guessing it was supposed to be one of those ploys where they slowly ratchet down the quality one notch at a time over a period of years and hope nobody notices, but their current pizza is craptastic.

Does anybody else remember their old pizza from back then?

I’ve never found anything from a chain to be “repulsive.” it’s mostly lowest-common-denominator, bland “meh,” but not repulsive.

in my experience people who call it “repulsive” are just trying to show off how awesome they think they are because they can hate something popular.

Pizza is like sex: even when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good.

We eat pizza just about every Sunday, and we usually get it from a local one-off restaurant. I get the gyro pizza, which is gyro meat, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions and feta cheese.

I don’t know if Pizza Hut used to be better or if I just remember it fondly because of nostalgia...

I swear Little Caesar’s Hot-N-Readies have gotten worse over the last 10 years, too.

Domino’s is actually a lot better than it was 5 years ago. I had it in college and it was terrible, but they overhauled everything shortly after that and it’s better than it used to be. The quality varies immensely from store to store though.

Papa John’s has always been Papa John’s though. Everything the sell tastes the same and it always has.

Try California Pizza Kitchen or really step it up and get some feta cheese pineapple artichoke fruit loop pizza from Extreme Pizza here in SF and you’ll sit down at Straw Hat Pizza and think it’s quite good.

Why yes, mass-produced-to-lowest-price-point foodstuffs are less than stellar.

There are any number of lovely local chef-y pizza places here and yet we still on occasion order Domino’s. Mostly because it’s the cheapest and fastest delivery.

It is not by any means good, but it is half decent enough to be worth spending the 12 bucks (or less) that I am willing to spend.

While there are other less-bad local chain type places that are within delivery range, they’re not so much better that I’ll pay like 20 bucks instead of 12.

So for me it’s either cheap chain junk, or the really good chef-y stuff, nothing in between.

And that’s like, maybe 1 or 2 times a month, if that.

I’ll literally eat anything except Little Cesar’s. You wanna talk about shitty pizza, not to mention my local store is employed by the laziest fucks around who can’t be bothered to even cut a pizza fully.

Papa Johns is my favorite of the national chains, but obviously being a St. Louisan, Imos pizza is the best round dough covered in sauce and cheese on the face of the earth. I had domino’s recently for the first time in a while and it was thoroughly meh.

That’s a pretty popular opinion. My bro just did a pizza podcast for a magazine he works for. I’m doing homemade pizza tonight.

In AZ we have a local chain called Barros and it’s good. We also have Pizzeria Bianco which has been rated the best pizza in the country a few times. It isn’t. I did once see Chris Bianco losing his fucking mind at one of his restaurants though.

Dominos has gotten better over the last 5 years. It’s really the best of the big box pizzas. Pizza Hut is the greasiest pizza I’ve ever had. Quite gross in my opinion.

There’s a brick fired place in Alexandria va called Pizza Pardisio that is, as the kids say, da’ bomb. It’s casual-fancy (if that’s a thing) with sit down only. No delivery. And their beer menu is to die for. Great, now I want pizza right before bedtime.

I think “rubbery dough, greasy pig anus, salty cheese, and sickly-sweet tomato sauce taste bad together” is a valid opinion that one (such as jkm) might come to without considering whether it’s “cool” or not. I am quite certain that my taste buds have never thought about what anybody else thinks before informing me of what they taste.

For example: I have never liked cauliflower and I hate cooked carrots. It has never crossed my mind to wonder if this is a cool opinion or not.
